Educational Courses in
Paediatric Medicine

General information

The Medical University of Graz offers placements for incoming exchange students and observers (students and physicians) interested in Paediatric Medicine only within the framework of short courses held in February and July. The aim of the short courses is to introduce practitioners to various fields of paediatrics.

During the 4 week programme, a mixture of bedside teaching and lectures are organized.

Aside from the above-mentioned time-frames, no placements are possible in paediatric medicine.

Structure and Content

Courses extend over 4 weeks and include:

  • clinical rotations
  • lectures
  • interactive case presentations or research talks

Please note that participants with Observer status are not allowed to work directly on patients, irrespective of their status and education in their home country.

Target Group

In order to promote discussion and interaction between younger and more experienced colleagues, incoming exchange students as well as observers (students and physicians) at different stages of their career may participate.

Application Procedure

Please apply for a place within the short courses in paediatric medicine through the coordinator of your respective mobility programme. The deadline is February 28, 2019.The coordinator and programme website inform you about the required documents. 

Please note that applicants must present an up-to-date immunization record (the latest upon arrival).

The deadline for applications is announced on the website of the respective programme.

ECTS-Credits

Exchange students enroled at Med Uni Graz may receive up to 5 ECTS-Credits for successful completion of the programme. Please contact the coordinator of your respective exchange programme for further details.

Fees

May apply, depending on the exchange program.

Language

The educational courses are held in English, but in the ward doctors speak in German to the patients and the staff. Supervisors will translate important information into English. Please be advised that not everything in the clinical routine can be translated and that the well-being and comfort of our patients is our priority.
