Outgoing Students

Students of Med Uni Graz can go abroad for one of the following reasons:

  • Studies - and / or Traineeships (clinical rotations)
  • Research, writing of scientific papers, theses
  • Participation in short courses (summer/winter schools)

The awarding of a scholarship depends on different criteria, however a curricular activity abroad is a prerequisite. Details can be found on the websites of the respective mobility programs.

Depending on the budget each Med Uni Graz student can receive up to two scholarships during his/her studies in one of the Med Uni Graz mobility programs (Electives Worldwide, Joint Study, Freemover).
ERASMUS+, CEEPUS or Marshall plan stays are excluded from this regulation.


For further information concerning the insurance during your stay abroad, please contact your health insurance carrier.

General information concerning an international health insurance can be found in a folder of the Federation of the Austrian Social Insurance Institutions.

Through the Austrian Students' Union (ÖH) you are accident and liability insured during your stay abroad  (Attention: this accident and liability insurance is not vaild for the USA, Australia and Canada).
This is, however, not a general health insurance!

We strongly recommend to take out a private health and accident insurance for your stay abroad.Wir empfehlen jedenfalls eine private Kranken- und Unfallversicherung abzuschließen! It might even be possible to extend existing insurances. Please check with your insurance company.
